Is God Making You Lazy? Series 101

in christianity •  7 years ago

Many say we are in the jet age (call it electronic, information or digital); everything runs on fast forward, fast lanes, fast foods, and on-demand services. They say it like it's a bad thing.

We commute with speeds our forefathers would envy. Our cars are pimped for turbo takeoffs and quick maneuvers. The stomach walls enjoy relishes without sweaty labors in hot smokes of firewood, kerosene stoves, and whatever else is old news! We get what we want when we want and how we want.

Isn't that the life?

Is this not the life that makes it possible for us to go to school without leaving our homes? Is this not the life that makes us able to speak with each other, see one another, and interact so deeply in the same space that's not the same place?

This is the life!

It is the life that many minds brought to light. The life many toiled for, died and left for others to enjoy. This is the life hardworking, smart thinking women, men, and kids contributed to building: A life of possibility, opportunity, and prosperity.

This is the life that man built. Are you not a man?

And as a child of God, are you not more than man? What, then, are you contributing to the building blocks of life? How are you making a difference with what you know, what you’ve got, and with who you are?

The child of God with all the advantages embodied in our divinity should not be anything less than outstanding, amazing, proof-producing, and result-oriented.

Instead, some have chosen to use spiritual colloquialism to explain away the lack of results in their personal lives. Others have mistaken their spiritual identity as an excuse for nonperformance, frigidity, and laziness.

It begs the question, “Is God Making You Lazy?”
