2 Peter 3:17-18 My dear friends, you have been warned ahead of time! So don't let the errors of evil people lead you down the wrong path and make you lose your balance. Let the wonderful kindness and the understanding that come from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ help you to keep on growing. Praise Jesus now and forever! Amen.

Christianity is a journey of faith on the path of heaven. It never leave us without road signs. Road signs not only helps us to understand the way; but to furnish us with warnings ahead impending dangers on the way.

Christians should take cognizance of dangers ahead on their journey of faith. They should also heed to those warnings to avoid falling victims to dangers lying ahead on the journey of faith.

One danger on our faith journey we are warned ahead of time to avoid is THE ERRORS OF EVIL PEOPLE who joined the Christian faith. Jesus revealed that reason why evil people err in the faith is because; they don't understand the scriptures.

these folks turns the scriptures upside down in preaching and interpreting it and thereby lead right and innocent souls into going down wrong way and lose their balance or fall from the faith.

To stand firm in the faith and in our christian journey, the apostle Peter enjoined that we should:

  1. KNOW WE ARE WARNED AHEAD OF TIME ABOUT THE ERRORS OF EVIL PEOPLE:
2 Peter 3:17 My dear friends, you have been warned ahead of time!........

  2. KNOW WHAT THE ERRORS OF EVIL PEOPLE ARE:
The first thing cash handlers are taught in banking institutions is knowing the genuine notes or coins. this knowledge enables them to dictate fake currencies easily.

Jesus taught, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Therefore, to know what the errors of evil people are, we must know the truth of Gods word, the truth about God and everything thing that relates to Him and our walk with Him. this will enable us not to fall victims of errors preaching, teachings, ordinances, practices, etc

Amen

  1. BUILD RESISTANCE AGAINST ERRORS OF EVIL PEOPLE:
When the Bible says, "Don't let...", it means don't allow. It means resist. Despite the fact that we know the truth, yet God wants us to resist errors of evil people that crept into the faith in order through their error teaching lead true believers of Christ into believing and practicing their errors and thereby lose their spiritual balance.

When you hear error messages and persuasion to go wrong path, knowing fully well that you spiritual balance is at stake, resist it. Any error you don't resist, it will persist and those evil people will insist in preaching and teaching. So, to quench it, therefore, we must resist it.

2 Peter 3:17 My dear friends, you have been warned ahead of time! So don't let the errors of evil people lead you down the wrong path and make you lose your balance.

  1. DON'T STOP GROWING IN THE FAITH:
When a Christian felt there is no need to grow in the faith, grow in reading the Bible, grow in prayers, grow in fellowship with other believers, grow in grace, grow in love for God and man, etc., such will soon fall into errors.

The apostle Peter enjoined us saying, "Let the wonderful kindness and the understanding that come from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ help you to keep on growing. Praise Jesus now and forever! Amen"

Grace and the knowledge of God helps us to keep on growing. Let hold onto knowing God the more. The apostle Paul wasn't satisfied with the level of the knowledge of God he had. Here is what he said: "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death" Philippians 3:10.

Knowing is growing. Let's endeavour and strive to know God and His word the more.
