- “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal [of the flesh] but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
- Casting down arguments and every HIGH THING THAT EXALTS ITSELF AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:4,5 (NKJV)
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32 (NKJV)
• Any knowledge you acquire in Christ Jesus, should be mainly to build a Christlike character in you.
- Whatever you learn should be to know God the more, and build intimacy, fellowship, with Him.
- Wrong knowledge could be a stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of God—and such knowledge should be cast down.
- Some have learned a number of things that make them uncomfortable with the truth of the Word of God.
- If what you learned is giving you problem in your walk with God, you find it difficult to agree with the Bible—then you need to unlearn such a thing.
• The truth of the matter is, it is easy to learn than to unlearn.
- It is not every book, material, or whatever you see that you read.
- Whatever you feed your mind with, will later work for or against you, depending on the stuff.
- Therefore the Scripture says:
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) - You read materials that can help build your Christian faith, help your growth in the things of the Spirit.
- If you started reading a material and you discovered the material is not building your faith up, you need to put it down and do away with it.
• Note: Any knowledge that makes you puff up, that makes you query the authenticity of the Bible, could not be from God.
“We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up [makes arrogant], but love edifies [builds up].”
1 Corinthians 8:1 (NKJV)
- Any material, information, or idea, that makes you believe the Bible is outdated, full of error, could not be from God.
- Any knowledge, material, that makes you disagree with the fundamental principles of the Bible, could not have been from God.
- Any knowledge that makes you believe that you have gone far more than the Bible—that you know more than the Bible, could not have been from God.
• You need to sieve whatever goes into your mind.
- What you allow in your mind determines your thoughts, and your thoughts determine your attitude and character (Matthew 12:34-37; 15:18,19).
- “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murderers,
22, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. - “All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
Mark 7:21-23 (NKJV)
- If you feed your mind with dirty things, it will produce dirty and evil thoughts.
- Any Knowledge you acquired, that does not build Christlike character in you—such knowledge could not have been from God.
• Whatever God wants us to know about Himself has been made available in His Word—the Bible.
- The Bible is written for our admonition and learning (1 Corinthians 10:6,11).
“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience [perseverance] and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
Romans 15:4 (NKJV) - The Bible is written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21)
• Seeking any knowledge that will not help your Christian faith can be detrimental to your relationship with God.
- It is known that most of the people who founded the heretical movements were once genuine Christians; but out of untamed desire, quest, to know what is not made available in the Bible, the devil accommodated them. He manifested supernaturally to them, and gave them erroneous doctrines that are contrary to the Bible—the Word of God.
- Apostle Paul said:
“But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”
Galatians 1:8 (NKJV)
• Whatever any human being, an angelic being, or a supernatural being, brought to you that is contrary to the Bible, should not be accepted.
- “For such are FALSE apostles, DECEITFUL workers, TRANSFORMING themselves into apostles of Christ.
- And no wonder! For SATAN himself TRANSFORMS himself into an ANGEL of light.
- Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (NKJV)
- Whatever you heard from any supposed spirit being or angelic being, which contradicts the Bible, should be rejected.
• You will not be a prey in the hand of the devil in Jesus’ name.
Peace!
