- “Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke, and said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel who is one of the captives from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah?
- “I have heard of you, THAT THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS IN YOU, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.
- “And I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and explain enigmas. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.” ”
Daniel 5:13,14,16 (NKJV)
• The king attested that the Spirit of God was in Daniel (Daniel 5:14).
- Through the Spirit Of God in Daniel; light, understanding, and excellent wisdom were found in him (Daniel 5:11).
- If Daniel in the Old Testament needed the Spirit of God to excel in his assignment, how much more do we also need Him in our contemporary time.
WE need the Holy Spirit for fruitful results in the ministry: "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; AND YOU SHALL BE WITNESSES TO ME IN JERUSALEM, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" (Acts 1:8).
“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; AND THEY WERE ALL FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND THEY SPOKE THE WORD OF GOD WITH BOLDNESS.”
Acts 4:31 (NKJV)
• After the resurrection, and before the ascension, Jesus told His disciples, the APOSTLES: “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high" (Luke 24:49).
- We may not need to tarry now to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit because He is already with us on the earth.
- We need the Holy Spirit for signs and wonders, and supernatural wisdom: "and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles" (Acts 2:43).
- The kind of wisdom that Daniel exhibited is supernatural and could only be gotten through the Holy Spirit.
- WE can be supernaturally empowered with wisdom by the Holy Spirit, If we walk in close fellowship with Him.
HOLY SPIRIT is the Spirit of POWER and WISDOM!
- “There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
- THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD shall rest upon Him, THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING, THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL and MIGHT [power], THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE and of THE FEAR OF THE LORD.”
Isaiah 11:1,2 (NKJV)
- The above prophecy was about Jesus Christ.
IN the passage, the descriptions of the Holy Spirit that would rest upon Him has six out of the seven components that are products of wisdom. - Supernatural wisdom comes through the Holy Spirit.
- Daniel was ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers in Babylon because of the Spirit of HOLY GOD in him.
17 “As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 19 Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; THEREFORE they served before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, HE FOUND THEM TEN TIMES BETTER THAN ALL THE MAGICIANS AND ASTROLOGERS WHO WERE IN ALL HIS REALM” (Daniel 1:17,19,20).
"Now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not give the interpretation of the thing." Daniel 5:15 (NKJV)
All the wise men, astrologers in Babylon were brought before King Belshazzar to interpret the strange writing that greatly troubled him. However, no one of them could INTERPRET the writing.
Daniel was able to read the writing and in INTERPRET it because the Spirit of the HOLY God was on the inside of him (Daniel 5:11,14).
“Then Daniel answered, and said before the king, “Let your gifts be for yourself, and give your rewards to another; yet I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.”
Daniel 5:17 (NKJV)
• Wisdom comes from the Holy Spirit.Ability to interpret hard sentences, enigmas, or knots comes from the Holy Spirit.
To interpret Scriptures correctly is by the help of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 2:15).
If you cultivated the habit of praying in the language of the Holy Spirit more, your eyes of understanding would be enlightened—opened (1 Corinthians 14:2).
You need the Holy Spirit to understand the Scripture and to accurately interpret it.
It should be known to you that the help of the Holy Spirit would be needed to comprehend and interpret the Scripture, being the author of it (2 Peter 1:20,21).
“ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
• God gave a lot of revelations to Paul, one of his secrets is that He speaks with tongues more in his prayers: "I THANK MY GOD I SPEAK WITH TONGUES MORE THAN YOU ALL" (1 Corinthians 14:18).
- As you pray in tongues, you speak mysteries to God, and that strengthens your communion, or fellowship with God: "FOR HE WHO SPEAKS IN A TONGUE DOES NOT SPEAK TO MEN BUT TO GOD, for no one understands him; HOWEVER, IN THE SPIRIT HE SPEAKS MYSTERIES" (1 Corinthians 14:2).
- The deeper your communion or fellowship with God, the greater the revelations given to you: “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the ABUNDANCE OF THE REVELATIONS (2 Corinthians 12:7).
REVELATIONS are products of deep communion with God.
NOTE: We have a better covenant than the time of Daniel because the Holy Spirit had not fully come to the planet earth then (Hebrews 7:22).
HE however has come to dwell in us and on us. We have the Spirit within and the Spirit upon US now.
THUS you should build and deepen your fellowship or communion with Him.
"But the HELPER (COMFORTER, ADVOCATE, INTERCESSOR—COUNSELOR, STRENGTHENER, STANDBY), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], HE WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS. AND HE WILL HELP YOU REMEMBER EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE TOLD YOU."
John 14:26 (Amp.)
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
