Ezekiel 18:23
Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
In this verse GOD was talking to Ezekiel telling him that he has no pleasure in the death of the wicked and HE would rather that they turn from their wicked ways and live.
This has a special meaning to man like me who once lived a wicked life. GOD loved me even if I was wicked and even wanted me to live. Despite my shameful acts of wickedness, GOD wanted me to live a full life that HE even sent his son Jesus Christ to die for my sins so that I may be saved. GOD knew that on my own I cannot change for I do not have the strength so HE gave me his HOLY SPIRIT to counsel me, guide me, convict me and rebuke me if again I am taking the path to unrighteousness.
What did I do to deserve to be forgiven and given a new life??? Absolutely nothing!!!
Because there is nothing I can do to gain this. In fact this cannot be gained for it is free. A free gift and it’s all yours to receive by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I do not claim to be a saint nor live a perfect life. I am nowhere near that but through the grace of GOD I am able to live and survive.
