Personal | Meeting with God at Church Camp (Part 2)

Day 1

Ahhh, I said I was going to post about this last week in continuation to my previous post Personal | Meeting with God at Church Camp (Part 1). Go read it if you haven't because then you will know why I've finally decided to register myself for this church camp.

So with still a heart full of regrets on WHY I actually registered, I've paid for the camp and have set up a carpool with my church's pastor. So there is NO WAY in canceling on it anymore. I've decided to just go for the camp. That week itself was hectic because of the movie production that I've just started, with me going for this camp, I will miss out one day of work leaving me with two days to complete what is supposed to be a 3 days work. God save me... My boss even asked me whether I really have to go for this camp and I said yes.

On the day of the camp, I waited and had my lunch at a cafe where my pastor was going to pick me up. And in the photo above, that's me on my way to Port Dickson, a getaway beach district where a lot of Malaysians would go to to escape the urban jungle.

I enjoyed the car ride because I haven't actually catch up with some of my church members and being in the car, it's either u sleep or talk. So I chatted away. It was a good car ride until I suddenly the pastor's wife informed me there was a change in room arrangement. Okay, before this, a group of us (good friends) were supposed to be in the same room so we've planned out the duties of who was supposed to be bringing the midnight snacks, shampoos and all. I quickly asked if I was being changed to a different room. Lo and behold.... I was the only one swapped out from the four of us.

What a bad day to start a camp

I was sad and of course, that added to my regrets of coming to this camp. I even jokingly said that I would post on facebook, 'Worst day ever!'. Anyways, I didn't dwell in it because I want to make the best out of it since I'm already there.

This is us when we arrived at the resort with the guest speaker for the camp. He was formerly an oboe player in the Portugal military band and now he preaches God's word.

I rushed to the registration counter and found out that I was put in a room with names I've not seen before. My church is not a big church, and first time seeing names that I do not know means that they must be not from our church but someone's friend. True enough... it was an old man and a father and son in my room. They put me together with them so I could take care of the old man... Sigh... sometimes I wish I wasn't that nice of a guy.

Decided to meet up with the rest of the gang and my team...oh right speaking about team, guess what my team name was? We were called the Blue Whale! HA! I loved it because u know... doing Steemit and all, and whale is like.... rich. Haha.

More peeps

Okay, aside from the room arrangement, I was relieved and happy that I was able to get away from the city and work life. It has indeed been awhile since I've seen the ocean and sandy beaches. I kinda forgotten how it actually felt like being away. So it's not ALL THAT BAD! Usually after Sunday service, I would head home to rest but this time, I had the weekend off and Monday also. My mind was literally blank and ready to enjoy the camp.

Of course, with the smell of the seaside and children running around and screaming(urgh..), we decided to head to the beach to take some photos. It was my first time using my Huawei P20 Pro to snap some photos and the photos came out AMAZING! Here u go!

Dinnertime

Since it was the first day, we had a worship service in the night after dinner and the rest was free time. The schedule for tomorrow would be more pack with games, talent time and worship services. Day 1 was pretty relax.

This is the Theme for the church camp. God I'm Back. The preacher was really good and he spoke about having the Thirst for God. He left us with something to think about. He also said something that struck me in the core. 'Do you believe God or do you KNOW HIM'. It is two very different things. Some people may believe there's a God but do not have any knowledge on WHO HE IS. Knowing Him is way different because that is where your heart will be in tune with Him. You understand WHY he does the things He does. And the simplest first step in getting to know Jesus Christ is by reading the bible. Which honestly, I haven't been doing. They say that the bible is God's word and God's breath.

After the service, everyone was tired so we all went back to the room and slept. I however took out my tablet and posted a teaser post on this church camp. What can I say? I try not to miss posting a day on Steemit :)

Moving on, I would be continuing this post series soon enough where I will share more photos and stuff on Day 2 and 3. And with that, I shall catch you guys soon!~

Thank You

That's a great solid point there! If we know him through the way of religion which many others do too as part of a historical figure, that's knowledge. If we relate with Him, then it's a relationship. Your camp preacher really dropped the mic well! :) so how was the stay with your roommates that wasn't expected?

Hahah... I had to take care of the uncle. He stays in Malacca and came all the way down for the camp. :)

Great..The place is a lot better. Travel's feelings are different. Better time spent with family is different. Photography is very nice 🙂

Thank you!
