- “Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
- And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”
1 John 3:21,22 (NKJV)
• If you are taking a step of faith, make sure the step you are taking is ordered by God (Hebrews 11:8).
- Some have heard someone who shared his story or experience and they ventured to do what the person did—thinking they would get similar result. They think what they acted on would produce result, but it was a failure.
- Your faith should not be based on someone’s experience or story, but on the Word of God.
- The person might have done what he did by the leading and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. But if you are not being led to do the same, if you do it, you may later regret.
- God is faithful, He honours His Word; however, He is not haphazard.
• Daring faith
- If you want to dare the enemy who is threatening or challenging you, make sure the daring is done by your personal conviction that is rooted in the Word of God.
- David dared Goliath because he knew God was with him, and God had shown up in the past when he had challenges–God did show up when the lion and the bear came to take the sheep he was pasturing.
- “But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock,
- “I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it.
- “Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.”
- Moreover David said, “The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be the with you!”
1 Samuel 17:34-37 (NKJV)
- David had the conviction which based on his relationship with God–he knew beyond any doubts that God was with Him.
• If you live in sin and you dare the enemy who is threatening your life, you may wake up to realize that God is not with you.
- “Now Samson went to Gaza and saw a harlot there, and went in to her.
- Afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
- When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart…
- And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” BUT HE DID NOT KNOW THAT THE LORD HAD DEPARTED FROM HIM.”
Judges 16:1,4,18,20 (NKJV)
• You should not suffer as a murderer or an evil doer. If you are at fault and you think God will defend you because you are His, even when you are not living right–it should not be a surprise if you do not receive His help, that is, His backing (Matthew 5:25,26).
“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters.”
1 Peter 4:15 (NKJV)
• Take Note:
- If you want God to act on your behalf, then you must live right, walk according to His Word.
- If you want to claim anything in God’s Word, be sure your life is lived in accordance with the Word.
- You cannot live contrary to the Word of God and want the Word to work for you in the time of distress.
- “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
- Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
Romans 6:1,2 (NKJV)
- If you want the Word of God to work for you, defend you and protect you; then do not stand against it–by living contrary to it.
- Your confidence in God increases as you walk in the light of His Word–you have a deeper conviction of Him.
• You will not fail in Jesus’ name.
Peace!
