What the??? yes with my ex

in christmas •  7 years ago

So today my partner and I spent xmas with my ex's family. Not your typical scenario but my ex and I have 2 kids together and then my partner and I have a little boy.
I personally think it's great that my ex's family welcome my partner and son with open arms and in today's society it doesn't happen often enough.
Put your hands up if you spent christmas day with your exs family instead of your own ☝️... you could say im just curious! image

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with whom ever you spent it with.

Here's a few pics of my daughter who has been working at Santa's Wonderland

Your daughter is really beautiful!!! ya.. i was shocked that you've spent Christmas with your ex, isn't it awkward at all?

Thankyou, no not at all. We've always remained friends after we separated 10 years ago and he is very layed back so i think that really helps. As is my partner plus my ex's family are lovely and it was actually my partner who rang my ex brother in law and invited ourselves lol... not weird at all 😂

That's so sweet, I'm sure it meant a lot to the kids. After all, Christmas is about family getting together

Yes absolutely agree. It definitely helps having a partner and an ex who get along

Glad to hear you had a great day :)

If people could take a leaf out of their book the world would be a much better place.

Looking forward to seeing your Steemit journey!

I completely agree, thankyou @o007

One year our family Christmas was hosted by my aunty and her second husband. among the guests were her first husband and his partner at the time, as well as his mother. It was different, but it was certainly good to see that even after a marriage break down, some people can still be civil with each other.

Move forward to now, and my ex's Mother (who openly hated me to start with) still sends Christmas cards to my Mum and family. We didn't have kids, or even get married, but were together for 15 years, and are still friends.

It's always good when people can work together even though they can no longer be what they were for each other.

I LOVE this! This is how it should be.

Sounds like you had a really good Christmas. It's great that people can still have a good nature even in the awkward situations. It's stuff like this which makes the world a better place :)
