Xmas Nightmare

Do you know a person who starts preparing for Christmas at least two months in advance? Or someone who's escaping as soon as the first sign of Christmas has appeared? Those are two very different people. Myself I'm closer to the second one. A holiday that should be calm, relaxing and fun can instead be hectic, stressful and tiring. Just a few days before Christmas the shops are filled with people frantically trying to get the last gifts. Doesn't that defeat its purpose?

Some friends have started with their families a Christmas without gift exchange to not be a part of the high consuming season where you get unnecessary gifts. What do you think about it? Are gifts a must or no?

Myself I don't celebrate Christmas, but I like the cosiness of the dinner with family and friends. Candles, white snow, food and laughter are the best ingredients for a successful holiday. I can't stand though when the same Christmas songs are played over and over again for more than a month. I just cancel all my plans to the mall. Somehow I can relate myself to Grinch, just horrible and fantastic at the same time to discover this fact haha.
