Hi everyone!
Have you decided yet how you will celebrate Christmas/New Year this time? I would like to share with you five different options of what drinks I would prefer for the table.
Russian
I had been living for a long time in Russia, so I would like to start with this beautiful country. A new year table in Russia can include many different dishes, but there is always a place for the traditional salad Olivye and mandarine. And, of course, some of the best Russian vodkas, for example, Beluga and Kremlin Award.
American
Turkey is the traditional dish at the Christmas time. There are many ways to prepare a turkey: baking in the oven, frying, stewing with apple and prunes. Other dishes are chosen by preference. What about alcohol? I think it is the best to pick one of the following two genuinely American drinks: Jim Beam (bourbon) and Jack Daniel's (Tennessee whisky).
French
French people always try to prepare tastiest and delicious dishes for a new year table: foie gras, sausage, stewed wild bird, lobsters, salads. Of course, the most famous drinks are champagne and wine. But I would like strong drinks like cognac and Calvados: Hennessy VS and Calvados Berneroy Fine.
Italian
People in different regions of Italy prefer different dishes. They can be lentils, nuts, grapes, caviars, pies, sausages or something spicy. Of course, Italian wine is one the best in the world. But since we are talking about strong drinks, I think we better chose Grappa Piu and Grappa Barbero Dolcetto.
Mexican
Actually, I do not know any specific Mexican dishes for Christmas or New Year so I would recommend something from national mexican cuisine: taco, burrito, fajitas. And, of course, the one and only, tequila: Don Cortez Gold and Olmeca Blanco.
Bon appetit!
