HOHOHO. I am back in China and ending the year here as a little boy in this huge country.
How come? After my Barista time in Changde and while meeting up with old friends in Thailand I met a Chinese Trio in Chiang Mai and in response of their question if I want to go back with them to China, I went! Now I am at China's east side and I've heard people renffering to it as the little boy at the east Chinese sea which I find quite majestic.
But before we come to talk about Christmas I'd like to show you my highlight of the day: SPIDERMRN!
Translations into English in China often put a smile to my face. This one of our latex covered swinging superhero even more especially because after we went past this ridiculous encounter a few hours later the second R was switched to an A thus putting it into perfection, removing all signs of an imperfect past. (Except my photo of course)
Being in China during this holy days thousand of miles apart from any blood-related family I know of and acquired family over the course of past years can and definitely is a challenge to the heart made even worse by your Mommy having tears in her years during exchanging Christmas wishes and warm words.
But hey. It's not too bad. Here in Shangdong, an ancient and tourists city where I went with my friends during Christmas there's almost everything you need to have present during Christmas.
1. Snow
Being surprised by snow in the morning although it didn't snow during the night! How can that be? Well everybody having made skiing vacation should know that snow doesn't just come from the sky but also from machines and although I was quite perplexed by the moring white I believed in a wonder from high upstairs until I saw the end of the snow which was just a few meters apart. Still a nice gag!
2. An illuminated Tree
What would Christmas be without a Christmas tree? A lot less magical for sure! I was so mesmerized by the trees found here that I became one of them.
3. Christmas Lights!
China has the advantage that it often keeps the light on and sometimes something beautiful as this emerges.

4. Alcohol!
A good holiday and family reunion needs one or two or three or... bottles of enriching spirit. A tradition much older than the holiday itself.
Me and mah China brothers stumbled upon a helping lady and got 2 bottles of Baijiu (White alcohol and most of the time made of rice) for that occasion. A sweet and a spicy one. Voila! There you have your ingredients for the special Holiday.
... Wait there is one more.
5. Presents
The last sprinkle to make Christmas Christmas.
What cannot be missing when you're as little as peppa pig or whatever her name is and start using your newly acquired writing skills to seduce Santa and his Elves made in China to get you that new Lego set, cat, male cat, book, tree. A deaire which later in your life changes to the single wish for fresh underpants wrapped in shiny paper.
My present for this year is not ready yet but halfway through.
A little polar bear! Without ears, feet, arms and a hat way to big proportional to its eyes yet still cute and full of love!
A hat is also on making and another one is already finsihed and now on its way to Russia!
I hope you all had the possibility to spend some nice days wherever you are!
sounds like fun time and one you will remember, my friend
