Life can be stressful enough without proper heating, plumbing, and air conditioning. Your living conditions can be affected if any of these systems fail. These are the most common problems that you may encounter with your HVAC or plumbing system throughout the year. With the right qualified and experienced technicians, they can also be fixed.
Recurring Plumbing Problems/Repairs
Although it sounds absurd, we have heard from customers that noisy flushing toilets are a common problem. It is a problem that can cause irritation and concern in homes and businesses. However, abnormal sounds can be easily fixed by flushing. We often find that the problem is caused by a damaged fill-valve.
Running toilets is another common plumbing problem that we deal with. This causes water to continue running, even when the toilet's not being used. It also results in huge water wastage. Our repair? We repair the damaged flapper.
Our clients also call us when they smell offensively from the toilet. Our plumbers will usually be called to repair a burst pipe or add water to the bowl.
You should also be concerned if you smell funny odors coming out of your bathtub. We usually fix a leaking or broken trap. Infrequent bathing could also be a trigger. The trap is now dry.
Problems with your bath can also be caused by blocked drains. This is fixed by removing hair, fat, soap, scum, or any other obstruction from the drain pipe.
Other common kitchen repairs include faulty disposals (this involves fixing a faulty motor or clogged blades, or a blocked drain), low water pressure (this is either fixing a sink, defective plumbing parts, or replacing damaged aerators.
Common HVAC Repairs
Over winter, the heat pump can ice up. This can cause serious problems, especially on cold winter mornings. It could be due to freezing rain, water dripping onto the top or submersion of the unit.
The heat pump does not reach the correct temperature. Your thermostat is set to 70deg, but the temperature never rises above 65deg. The typical repair involves everything from replacing damaged reverser or compressor valves to servicing the heat pump.
A defective humidifier. We depend on our humidifiers in North Carolina. If one fails during the summer, we immediately call. Most times, the repair is simple. For example, a customer may have turned off the humidifier last summer and forgotten to turn it on again. The humidifier might also need to be cleaned in order for it to work properly.
The outdoor unit is noisy, another common repair we do. Although heat pumps are designed to make loud noises, there is always an issue with unusual or excessively loud noises. It could be the fan blade striking something, bad compressor valves, or bad motors.
