During summertime cicadas are everywhere in Japan! This photo was taken on the 17th of August 2016, near the end of Summer at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise. I'm particularly fascinated with this picture because right next to the Cicada you can do a side by side comparison to the ant that happens to be walking alongside. This photo here is unedited and was taken with a Sony DSC-W830 20.1 mega pixel camera.

I recently got to see one transform down in Arkansas, and documented the whole thin with photos in this post. Personally, I like the wings of your Japansese Cicada better.
The wings of the ones around here are clear, which is cool too, but I like the look of the one in photo. What incredible creatures!
