2009 Don Carlos God Of Fire. This cigar is a gem, however it is not cheap. About $18 when you could get them. A cigar legend died today, Arturo Fuente's son, Don Carlos.
The GOF Don Carlos has a very balanced flavor profile. The breadt and cashew notes pair so well with the slight cedar, cocoa nuances. The mild pepper note rounds it of nicely, however the cocoa is very prominent in the finish. The cocoa is sweet with a butter creaminess. The smoke is plentiful and cloudy, with an easy retro hale.
I guess one could sum up the flavors of this cigar as Nutella. It is truly amazing. It doesn't have the floral nuance like a regular Don Carlos, but double the cocoa
The construction is flawless as usual with a Fuente (any Don Carlos being tops).
A rare A+
