Celebrating Cinco de Mayo At Home

Many people this week will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo from home this year and that might mean turning to their favorite Mexican restaurants in order to get some good food delivered to help fuel the holiday celebration.

Restaurants around the United States and elsewhere are already preparing to cater to busy delivery and take-out demands.

This is a popular holiday that brings many people out to celebrate in bars and restaurants, but this time they will be doing it from home for the most part. And you will probably be able to find some virtual celebrations too.

However, some states have already been moving forward with phase 1 of their reopening plans recently, and this means allowing restaurants to open once again in time for Cinco de Mayo in some areas. There still are some restrictions though in many cases for capacity and social distancing.

For many Mexican restaurants around the United States, the Cinco de Mayo celebration is one of their busiest business days of the year and it isn't clear yet how successful it might be this go around.

While some regions have recently opened up with phase 1 for a variety of businesses, including restaurants, many people might still prefer to stay inside rather than rush to going out.

Since millions are now unemployed too, many people also might not have the funds at this time to order out from their favorite restaurants and celebrate the same holidays like they traditionally would.

Still, those restaurants that have usually seen this to be one of their busiest days they can likely expect to see a rush in business this week and perhaps throughout the month because of it.

For some restaurants, they are offering celebratory deals that last longer than May 5th. You can find some offering deals like carryout for margaritas and other special deals that last until the end of May.

DIY

Rather than order out, you might even want to make your own taco bar by yourself right at home.

The tag 'CincoAtHome' has already been trending across social media.

For some in areas like Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and other regions, you might be able to find your usual dine-in options open once again.

Corona Concert

There are some familiar faces that have been encouraging a 'CincoAtHome' celebration at this time, including popular brands like Corona.

They are encouraging people to have at-home celebrations and order in from their favorite bars or restaurants. They are also expected to be hosting a livestream event tonight and for every viewer that watches the celebration and joins in they are going to donate $1 to the RERF or Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, to a max of $500k.
