7 Movies To Watch: Great Endings

in cinema •  7 years ago  (edited)

Don't you love those movies that surprise us in the end with that "No shit!" feeling, hitting our bones with that good old twist at the very end, when everything seems to settle.
If you're like me then grab the popcorn and call some friends because the movies I'm gonna list are good, don't worry I'm not gonna spoil anything and if you're asking these movies are randomly listed.

1. Memento

We all love Nolan but do all of us know about the young Nolan, the one without big CGI and Milion bucks exploding hospital scenes? Yes, this movie isn't actually the greatest but one of the first movie to explore this kind of twisted ending, probably not the best in its own genre but the weirdest in his Pulp Feeling. You're probably gonna love the ending and I'm sure some of you are gonna doubt about the genius behind another famous movie knowing that it probably got his ending from this one.

2. The Sixth Sense

Oh boy! here we go again, this little fella is probably the most spoiled movie of all time, so much spoiled that its own twisted ending is a deal breaker for the most viewers. Yes we have a kid who sees ghosts, and Bruce Willis, we all know that, and we probably heard already how it ends but if you haven't... well you're a lucky man/woman because this is actually a really great movie.

3. Orphan

_Wait! is this a horror movie? Yes I do like horror but generally they are really bad plotted and filmed, so how is it gonna surprise me?_ Well I was actually surprised both by the ending and by how great this movie actually is, even tho yes being a horror movie you're gonna see a lot of cliches and not so great cinema moments, but you know... they need to sell those tickets. Still this is valuable and capable of giving you a lot to think afterward.

4. Se7en

You know Fincher, he loves noir thrillers, Brad Pitt and violence and this movie has them all. The plot is actually great already but the ending is really strong, not twisted as the already listed but dark and powerful and I said too much already. Not for all because is really dark, but if you're not afraid this is one of the brightest cults of the 90s.

5. A Beautiful Mind

Ok, this one is an outsider in this list, if you've seen it you know why I'm saying that, but still it surprise and confuse you as probably math did when I was in High School. Its plot is actually really intriguing and even if it doesn't reflect the reality it does make you think and search a little about its argumentations. Don't be afraid, if it doesn't surprise you it still is such a beautiful movie.

6. Requiem for a Dream

Not for all, or well... not for anybody. This one hits hard, it breaks your heart in million pieces, bad and harsh in its depicting of this four peoples life. I hated it, and loved it as soon as I forgot how hard the finale was, a "must see" for anyone who's searching for something Edgy; which goes in contrast with what I already told I know but at this point I hope you're enough intrigued for the vision.

7. Mystic River

Of Mice and Man wasn't bad enough, you think nothing is gonna break you anymore? Well try this one, Sean Penn is brilliant, the plot is brilliant, there's even Kevin Bacon in it, what else do you want? The finale is brutal, real and it weighs a ton compared to other similar movies, probably the most admirable movie in this list so far in its own cinematographic content.
