We do live in exciting times!!

Just go back a few years and think about what was to have the ability to put a video together.. Pretty hard, wasn't it.

Nobody had a camera... nobody had a strong enough computer to edit film, any software and everything else for that matter was extremely expensive.

Fast forward to 2017.

Now we all have a camera inn our pocket. A camera that can shoot 4k, that has cool slow motion... basically a better camera than any other consumer camera 10 years ago.

But today we will focus on software and you have everything you need to make a film for free.

What do you need to finish a video?

. Need to edit it

. Need to work on the sound

. Need to work on photography

. Need to color correct it.

Shall we start?

#1) Da Vinci Resolve

This entry is hard to believe.

Resolve is not only a professional program, but it's actually the number one program for color correction in hollywood movies and so on.

Yeah... it's a powerful piece of equipment.

And you can Edit on it also. The new version has even some amazing audio treatment features. And it's free. You can edit, make your sound and color correct inside of it. And it's amazing and powerful.

It does need a decent computer to run.

I do believe it will become the standart for film editing in a few years.

#2) HitFilm Express.

This is another completely free editing suite. Not a demo, not a trial...a full on, editing system you can get for free on your Pc.

It works very well, you can edit all the videos you want. It Even has an Effects panel for you to use inside the program.

They give you some really cool effects, color correction and so on. A terrific contribution for the film creation world.

If you don't have a super powerful computer and want to start editing videos, this is an excellent option.

#3) Gimp

Don't have money for photoshop nor Affinity ?... no problem.

You can get Gimp at no cost. A photo manipulation with a fantastic option of features.

#4) Audacity

Like we said, you need to work on your sound. Audacity will take care of you in that department.

You can record, edit, mix, compress, EQ... and so on...

This is it.

You can edit, color correct, do your sound and take care of your images... All for free... plus you probably have a camera in you pocket.

I'm not saying this are the best programs out there.

Personally I use other ones mainly. But i've used all of these before and I can tell you they can get the job done.

The point is you can make your videos and movies with free software... Quite amazing...
