Dreamworks is a good studio when it comes to animation (think Shrek). Sadly, Madagascar is not one of them.
Animals in the Central Park zoo, especially the Zebra, long for The Wild. He gets his wish granted, with all its ups and downs.
I can't say I really got hooked into that movie. For starters, considering the beauty of Shrek 2 graphs, the ones in Madagascar aren't impressive. The lion's mane isn't as well-animated as Prince Charming's(!!), and the jungle doesn't look that impressive.
And when it comes to the plot, it didn't grab my attention either. Oh, the penguins were funny. But Chris Rock doesn't seem fit for voiceover, He got annoying really quickly; and why did Sacha Cohen take an Indian accent for those lemurs?
In short, you can skip this movie. The story isn't that interesting, and the visuals are subpar compared to movies of the same era
Final rating: 2.7/5
I've seen this movie, which tells a funny story about the animals in New York's Central Park fleeing to live in Africa. Along the way, Alex the Lion, Melman the giraffe, Gloria the hippo, and Marty the zebra form an animal team that experiences adventures together, eventually learning the importance of friendship and unity in the process of family reunion.
