NjomBE BEyond: plastic recycling #1 First steps

in circular •  6 years ago
My friend and I were at a beach in Taghazout, Morocco. It was empty; the beach, the sun going down and us. We enjoyed ourselves: we bathed, we listened to music, we fought, we talked, … I guess we also ate some delicious Moroccan sweet. We had spent the last 2 weeks travelling around Morocco, staying with wonderful Couchsurfers, visiting friends´ relatives, getting to know such an amazing place and people.

And suddenly a bright dream came to my mind:

“What if we become recycler nomads? Wandering around, collecting waste and turning it into useful stuff for locals!”

Because of course, the previous description of the beach was missing a small detail:

sampl of beach, not the real one

1+ year fast forward and here we are:

We have a great team and a clear goal:

“Reduce the plastic wasted in Njombe town, making sure that it cycles”

We have pivoted the original dream into a more feasible option. We have started gathering information to get a sense of what is going on in our surrounding and to uncover some important unknows:
