Brighton From The Wheel

These photographs were taken from The Brighton Wheel which was, for a short time, situated to the east of the Palace Pier.

It was opened in October 2011 and operated until May 2016. Rumour has it that it was taken down as one of the conditions for the i360 being built.

There were 35 standard gondolas, each able to carry up to six adults and two children, and the ride lasted about 12 minutes in total and had a running commentary describing the views and buildings that were visible during the ride.

That must have been so fun, assuming you’re the one who took those photos.

It was fun and I most definitely did take the photographs @indigoocean.

My daughter bought tickets for my mum for her birthday and the three of us went on the ride with my son as well.

The views from there have now been replaced by the views from the i360 which I've also written about a few times! 😁

@gillianpearce I really appreciate your photos. I recognized the Royal Pavilion from your earlier posts. I feel almost as though I have visited Brighton. Keep the wonderful content coming.

Thank you @steven-patrick. It's actually not that big of a place really.

I liked how that shot with the pavilion showed how central it is which makes it even more intriguing really. 😊

You told us so much about the Brighton Wheel, I wanted to see it, too. :)

Looks like spectacular views from atop it. Views that it doesn't appear possible to get otherwise. That's too bad that it was removed, even for the i360. Which I'm not sure what that is. Here the 'i' might stand for interstate, but I'm guessing it's something with a 360 degree view instead.

You told us so much about the Brighton Wheel

I think you're thinking of the i360 @glenallbrethsen as I'm pretty sure I've not mentioned the Brighton Wheel before.

You get 360 degree views from there and I've posted about that a few times. 😁

Must have been quite a thrill for the little kids as well as the adults.

The little kids were actually adults in this instance @manorvillemike! 😁

I always hear great things about it Brighton, especially about the food! I've never been before, but hope to visit in the near future. Photos look great :)

Let us know when you're in the area @seanreilly and I'll arrange a meet-up and get some of the Steemians down from London! 😁

In the business world, the rearview mirror is always clearer than the windshield.

What has this got to do with what I've written in my post @jehovahwitness?
