Ancient, dusty Meybod city and 2000 years old Narin Castle, Central Iran

in cityscapephotography •  6 years ago  (edited)

This is one of the typical pre-islamic Persian castles, dated at least 2000 years old, but some say it's actually much older - up to 7000 years old.
The castle survived numerous earthquakes and the view from its roof now is probably very similar to how it was back then...

With the clear air you can see 70 km from the top of the castle

Good post. Upvoted.

I was just reading an article on 3-D printed buildings.

How cool would it be if you could get a 3-D printed building designed to look just like one of the buildings you photographed.

It would be like living in the past but with wifi and electric power of course.

Love the look. As an archaeologist, these photos are really up my alley.

Glad you like it!

Just incredible. Iran hides a lot of mysteries from its past!

That it does

What strikes me the attention of one of the views you show, is the total tranquility that is seen in the streets of the city, no movement is visualized; Of course I do not know at what time and day the photograph was taken; but certainly you breathe a lot of peace and tranquility, it's as if the city had fallen asleep over time ... It would be interesting to see what's inside the castle. What was the furniture, how the walls and ceilings were decorated.
I visit castles a lot. Now restoration is in progress in Belarus and many castles are taken from the ruins.
Come to Belarus to us. You will have something to write about.
