On a dismal day with a haze of pollution hanging in the air, a backdrop of wealth overlooks an impoverished riverside shanty. For the @antipolo crew, its taken from Flood Road when I was travelling out to see friends in Binangonan. I don't know why, but the dull colours in this make it feel like an old watercolour. The thing is, there is more humanity in that shanty than the city you see in the background.
That's the real life in the philippines. Many Filipinos have no descent shelters and others are no descent livelihood. That's why the philippine government have do something to decrease the numbers of poorest filipino families and give them some trainings for their livelihood.

It certainly is mate. I used to stay with some friends in a huge shanty not so far from the airport in pasay. People had so little but it was fucking awesome. Sat around on a night with a bottle watching TV, listening to neighbours fighting lol...the whole of life was crammed in there. Easy for me to enjoy the experience cos I knew i would be leaving. How people manage from day to day astounds me..and if there had been a fire....but thats why I love your country so damn much. People were so friendly and welcoming wherever I went.

I've yet to make it to Thailand but I have a close friend who spends half of the year there. I can understand the appeal, being in a place with a sense of community, culture and where you can feel at home.
