SYDNEY CITYSCAPE, AUSTRALIA.

in cityscapephotography •  7 years ago

This is my entry for Tuesday's Daily Photo Challenges by @juliank Theme: #cityscapephotography.

This image is a small section of the interesting and vast city of Sydney situated at Circular Quay. Circular Quay is situated on the edge of Sydney Harbour and is the location to many iconic attractions such as the Sydney Opera House the Royal Botanic Gardens, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Busy ferries come and go day and night and it is a merging point for train, bus and cruise ship passengers.

A Captain Cook Cruise boat cruises past Luna Park in Sydney's beautiful harbour. On the western side of Circular Quay this sits the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and The Rocks. Everywhere you walk along this fascinating foreshore you will be treated to spectacular views. You’ll also discover a theatre precinct, heritage wharves and the Justice and Police Museum.

A wide range of tours are available at the Quay which include guided walks, tall ships, jet boats, sumptuous lunch and dinner cruises and even Aboriginal-led Tribal Warrior Cruises. Between the months of May and November whale watching cruises head for the ocean where sightings of humpback whales create memorable moments for all who have the pleasure of observing these wonderful creatures. There is a large variety of bars, cafes, and restaurants on all sides of the Quay and the ferries travel to Manly, Watsons Bay and Luna Park on the other side of the Quay.

A large Captain Cook cruise ship moves with grace under the Sydney Harbour Bridge towards the picturesque harbour. There is never a dull moment in these waters as multiple water vehicles weave their way around each other, into Circular Quay, the many attractive bays, across to Luna park or to various other vantage points to deliver passengers to their work venues or tourists to their chosen destinations.

Such a beautiful cityscape! I love the picture where the Ferris wheel is, what nicely composed shot of fun!

I hope you will have a most wonderful Wednesday! Tip!

Thank you very much for the lovely tip surprise and your encouraging comments Denise. I do agree with you. Sydney is a beautiful cityscape. There is a lot that I haven't seen and hopefully one day, I will get to see a lot more of it. My Wednesday is turning out to be most enjoyable, thank you. There is sufficient breeze blowing in from the beach that I do not need the air con today which a nice change. I hope your Wednesday will a fabulous one too.

Great place for a cruise :)

It was a great starting place for a cruise @steveconnor We cruised from the beautiful Sydney Harbour down to Tasmania, then up to Adelaide and Melbourne. It was a great way to see more of Australia.

Nice photos. I love seeing what goes on around our harbour.

Thank you @ratticus I think Sydney Harbour is one of the most picturesque in the world. We were fortunate that it wasn't raining when we were there.
