1928 Ford. The "New Ford Car"

in classic •  7 years ago  (edited)

The Ford model A was first introduced in 1927 as a "New Ford Car". They were made until 1931. The model A was the predecessor to the Model T which was produced faithfully by the Ford company until 1927.
In the 1920's sales of the model T were dropping but Henry Ford was loyal to his design. Yet in 1927 he made what was considered and unusual business move and he stopped production of the model T. Years earlier his son Edsel Ford had unsuccessfully tried convince his dad to stop production. When he was unable to convince his dad, he secretly began to design his own version. His new design, built from the ground up would play a key part in the "New Food Car design.
Here are a few pictures of a 1928 ford I saw while working. Saw this beauty parked outside a sandwich shop next door to my work. So I asked the owner of I could take a few pictures, he smiled and said yes. Enjoy. :)
