Anonymus, 3 Præludiae pedaliter

in classical-music •  5 years ago

Folio 39 of manuscript Ms Lynar B3 contains 4 small preludes. The reason why they are so short can only be guessed. Perhaps they were meant as intonations. Or perhaps they were meant as models for the start of a larger scale composition or improvisation. They consist of a contrapuntal exposition of a motive, almost immediately followed by a conclusion. Because they are so small I grouped three of them in one score. The fourth is a litlle bit longer, fits nicely on one page and will be published seperately.

The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Voxus, of the Matthijs van Deventer-orgel in the Grote Kerk, Nijkerk (https://www.voxusorgans.com/en/product/nijkerk).
