The first "solo performance" recording on the Mascioni from Alessandria — by far the most RAM-consuming set that I purchased so far! Running this on max settings like I do eats up about 100GB of RAM, even tho the specs on Piotr's site said something about ~60GB...but with my new machine, fortunately that's not a problem anymore! ;-)
Balancing the tuba to an appropriate volume (esp. in the resulting stereo downmix) took me a while indeed, but I think this sort of fine-tuning was totally worth it to not let it just yell at the listener — time to try that out in a somewhat "contrary" piece, both relaxing AND powerful.
If you think that you heard an apparent resemblance to the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" title theme, you're not mistaken: It was indeed my intention to produce an imitation or variation of it... :-)
