This, the last song ever composed by Richard Strauss, surfaced about forty years after the composer's death in a manuscript for piano and soprano that had been hoarded by the legendary soprano Maria Jeritza. Strauss never orchestrated the song so I decided to have a go at it. This is the premiere of that orchestration.
