My performance of Deux Arabesques by Claude Debussy

in classicalmusic •  6 years ago  (edited)

I've been playing piano for most of my life, and likely my favorite piece to play is Deux Arabesques by Claude Debussy. The first arabesque has one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard, with the 3-against-2 pattern reminding me think of a picturesque waterfall. The transition to the B section is also one of my favorite movements in music, perfectly moving from the flowing first section into a much quieter, but serene, stability.

The second arabesque is such a great contrast, with the melody so full of life and little flourishes everywhere giving the impression of some mystical creature dancing around and evading any watchful eyes.

Anyway, here's my rendition of this piece that means so much to me. Constructive criticism is welcome.
