The United Arab Emirates is planning to tow a massive iceberg into the region. This will be a very interesting project and should shed some light on how much cooling effect could occur in the region and the oceans along the way. https://www.khaleejtimes.com/nation/uae-to-tow-icebergs-from-antarctica-for-new-project
You've got to hand it to the UAE, they definitely are thinking well out of the box!

They have also been working with China to push back the desert and add more green area. China and India both have shrunk the deserts in their regions and added more green area by planting trees and shrubs. And the earth is greening with the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2016/carbon-dioxide-fertilization-greening-earth

And NASA is recognizing the impact the loss of rain forests and jungles is having. Soon they may finally admit to the changes the loss of these rain forests have had on the climate, being the leading cause for dryer conditions in North America and the India/China region. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/ames/human-activity-in-china-and-india-dominates-the-greening-of-earth-nasa-study-shows

I have heard of initiatives in desert regions to plant more greenery. I think it's an awesome idea. It's kind of like an experiment. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
