Amid widespread international condemnation, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he is pulling the United States out of the 2015 Paris climate agreement. The leaders of France, Germany and Italy have issued a joint statement saying they regret the decision while affirming their commitment to continuing the global fight against climate change. Senior Republicans and coal industry officials have backed the president's decision, however.
But as Statista's Niall McCarthy notes, according to a 2015 Pew Research Center survey, 86 percent of people in Brazil and 76 percent of people in India consider global warming a very serious problem. In the U.S., on the other hand, only 45 percent of respondents were seriously concerned.
You will find more statistics at Statista
There is also a massive gulf in perception among Democrats and Republicans.Pew's polling found that 68 percent of Democrats think global warming is a very serious problem compared to just 20 percent of Republicans, a level of concern similar to respondents in Poland and China.
Actual evidence of man made climate change?

I wonder how much Al Gore's involvement in this issue created the partisan divide we see. If the issue was brought to the public's eye by an impartial messenger perhaps it wouldn't have become such a politicized issue. Then again it may have needed that controversial aspect of it to actually become a well known issue, or else it may have just simmered unseen for the majority of people.

great point! Speaking as an open minded but skeptical Conservative with Republican leanings, I have been put off by Al Gore on this topic. It seems to me that he has used this as an jump board to push his own special interests and agenda. We need to separate the money from the argument and do what is right for the future.
I have heard reasonable arguments that many of the studies that support climate change are funded by special interest groups that have much to gain by presenting a case for climate change. And if you are a researcher that presents research that is otherwise, you will most likely not get future grants/funding.
