Cloud Storage, My Concerns and Can We also make a Profit out of it? (Just a random collection of thoughts)

As depicted by many data collections, the use of cloud storage services have skyrocketed and has become an inevitable part of our daily lives, from taking photos which are uploaded to cloud to writing and saving any document online. But is there anything about them we should be worried about?
Controversies regarding the privacy and security of these services have emerged from time to time like the icloud hacking a few years back. Second thing is privacy policy. But it is quite a subjective matter, some people really take it seriously while the some take it as if nothing.
Now my concern is the increasing demand of cloud storage, many emerging companies, the associated flaws due to speeding up the process of providing the consumers with more and more space, and most importantly, the pricing.
As we all know, the file sizes have grown larger and larger, like about 5 years ago a camera picture was of average 1 megabyte, but now a raw image is about 100 times the size. And with recent advances in technology, our digital storage requirement will just multiply.
What is the solution to all these? And what should we do? These are the questions that have been baffling me for quite a time.
So, I researched for quite a time to find a solution ranging from getting hard drives, SSDs, hybrids to store my data, to different firms offering server storage solutions. And with all these digital bits surrounding us I think everyone will be at my position in a couple of years. And with the increasing demand for all of these, I have a hunch that it will be quite costly to store our data in future.
Now, I have turned to blockchain for storage (Sia, Storj etc) and I feel that it can be the solution to all these problems especially security, privacy and cost. But there is not a single option which is bug free or work flawlessly. Sia is ahead of others but still it is way way behind all the established giants of the storage business like google drive or dropbox. I still can’t understand why has there been a lot of delay in development in this field of blockchain. I think whoever gets it right first will be the new king of this digital jungle.
Now, for the people like me who are just enthusiastic about such revolutionary solutions, it is quite a decent dimension. While those who just want to make a decent money out of it, it can be a thing if they are patient enough to wait a year or so.
