Cloud computing: what is it and how does it work?

in cloudcomputing •  3 years ago

Cloud computing is a catch-all word for anything involving the delivery of hosted services through the internet. These services are classified into three forms of cloud computing: infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS) (SaaS).

A cloud may be both private and public. A public cloud sells services to anybody with access to the internet. A private cloud is a proprietary network or data center that provides hosted services to a small number of users with restricted access and rights. The purpose of cloud computing, whether private or public, is to give simple, scalable access to computer resources and IT services.

The hardware and software components necessary for the correct deployment of a cloud computing architecture are referred to as cloud infrastructure. Cloud computing is also known as utility computing and on-demand computing.

The term "cloud computing" was inspired by the cloud symbol, which is frequently used in flowcharts and diagrams to symbolize the internet. Do not hesitate to explore more in cloud computing, check out the Cloud Computing course today.
