Cumulonimbus clouds starting to form

in clouds •  6 years ago

Later in the day and at higher altitudes massive storm cells begin to break through the regular clouds.

These cells are fueled by latent heat being released as the water vapor condenses releasing the energy that it took to evaporate the water in the first place.

As the clouds rise higher more water condenses and so the process continues like a growing snowball.
