Greetings of the day everyone!
Let me first start by wishing the Muslim community around the world : Ramadan Kareem dear friends!
May this holy month be a time of reflection and renewal for you and your family!
As every year, I am so excited with this month of fasting as it does a real lot of goodness for oneself...and another thing I am excited about is the Iftaar which is the food we prepare to break our fast when the sun sets...
Yes my friends, for whole month, everyday we prepare yummy foods and place them on our Iftaar Table...and hmmm I personally set the table and try doing it different everyday!
So the next 30 days or so, I will try to be present as much as I can to share with you my daily iftaar table! ***Actually if you scroll down my blog to last year's Ramadan...you will see all the different tables that we prepared at home!
I hope you will enjoy them and maybe inspire you guys to set such tables at your place too!
Below is my Iftaar Table Number 01 - We started Ramadan today here in Mauritius!
Sweet...Savoury...Drinks...Chocolates...
When setting our Iftaar Table, I always make sure to have many different types of foods that we can all enjoy...
Be it an adult or a kid...anyone will be happy breaking the fast with such yummy dishes!
Actually during Ramadan we eat a lot of fried snacks (Mauritians favorite) but I try to balance it with some juices and fruits...
But still the fried samosas were the king of the table which we had with some spicy chutneys!
We also had stuffed chilies and spring rolls on the table...
Moroccan tea...Milk Tea...Water...Soft Drinks...Juices!!!
Each one around the table has some favorite and we try to cater for everyone...
For example, my wife can't live without her Moroccan Mint Tea while me I love my Mauritian Milk Tea...and they were both present as well as some soft drinks, juices and water of course!
Chicken Biryani and Cucumber salad as our main course...
Being the first day today, we were like in a rush and I completely forgot to take photos of the chicken biryani which was also forming part of the first Iftaar Table for this year!
Mini buns with chicken tika and watermelon too!
The watermelon I bought earlier was so sweet while my nephew prepared the bread with chicken tika which was also so delicious!
Infact we over prepared for this first table and will adjust tomorrow.
It is not nice throwing away food...
30 Iftaar Tables coming up...
This is my goal and hope I can do it...though it will be difficult to present my table everyday...
Last year I did over 25 tables on my blog and hope to cross that record this year!
Closed my restaurant for the full month...
This will help me get some precious time concentrating on this month of Ramadan and we will open the restaurant after Eid...
But in the morning we will work and prepare our contracted food orders which are delivered everyday before noon!

Not everyone is lucky as us having such a nice variety of foods everyday, but you are all in my prayers for sure!

I am already thinking about what to prepare for Iftaar Table Number 02...but will only disclose it on my blog tomorrow evening!!!
