Hello everyone, finally I will begin my first blog with a bit of sweet taste.
I will introduce a very simple but delicious Asian dessert step by step - Glutinous rice cake with coconut milk
This special dessert was originated from Taiwan, and has gained its popularity amongst most Asian countries.
It is made with natural ingredients and you can be self-innovative to create all kinds of variations as per your preference.

大家好!宝宝忙了一天终于可以静下来写第一篇博客啦。带给大家的是上个周末在家里做的薯圆西米露。
其实它本名叫芋圆西米露,是一款非常有名的台湾小吃,在近今年得到越来越多人的喜爱。
采用最纯天然的食材,再加上自己的创新,你也可以为自己和家人带来一款别出心裁的餐后甜品哟。
好啦废话不多说,一步一步教大家做这款炒鸡好吃的甜品。

1. Ingredients | 食材
- Sweet potato/Purple sweet potato | 红薯/紫薯
(Feel free to replace these with Taro, carrots or pumpkin. I went for purple sweet potato to give it a bit of contrast in color. 选用紫薯的原因是想让颜看起来更丰富。可以根据自己的喜好换成芋头、胡萝卜或者南瓜)
- Glutinous rice flour | 糯米粉
- Cassawa flour | 木薯粉
- White sugar | 白砂糖
- Coconut milk | 椰奶
- Sago | 西米
2. Steemit and smash it! | 蒸起来!剁成泥!
Put your sweet potato on steam for at least 15 minutes until it has fully softened.
When cold, mash them independently and mix well with two tea spoons of white sugar.
把红薯和紫薯放入锅里蒸15分钟,蒸软后取出放凉,随后剁成薯泥。
在每个薯泥团里混入两勺白砂糖。
3. Make the dough | 揉团
Mix the mash with Glutinous rice flour and cassawa flour (Ratio 3:1:1)
Knead each dough by hand for at least 10 minutes with medium pressure to give it toughness.
Add a few drops of water if you feel that the dough is loosing its moisture.
在薯泥中加入糯米粉和木薯粉揉团(比例3:1:1)。
每个薯团至少揉10分钟,加一些力道,这样揉出来的团才会筋道。
如果觉得薯团有些干了的话,可以加一些清水。
4. Cut the dough | 切团
Separate the dough into small balls and roll them into rods of roughly 2cm in diameter. Press the rod from above so that you get a rectangular section.
Cut them into small pieces of 2cm in width.
将揉的面团分为几个小球,揉成约2cm厚的长条形。将上下挤压至平。
随后用小刀切成2m宽的小段。
5. Boil | 煮团
Boil the mini dough in water for 5 minutes until they all float. Remove water and cool down.
.... We are almost there with one more step!
将小团放入沸水中煮5分钟,待全部漂浮后就煮熟。水沥干、放凉。
此时此刻这款甜品的主角就做好啦!
6. Add coconut milk and sago | 加入椰奶及西米
Now lets add our favorite coconut milk and sago to double up the taste and texture. You can be more creative with the toppings: redbeans, fruits....or anything you like!
最后就可以加入我最爱的椰奶和西米啦,在这里煮西米的过程就不介绍了。还可以添加其他自己喜欢的内容,比如红豆和水果之类的。

Few last words to say: I hope you all enjoy my first clumsy attempt in writing a food blog.
