草萤有耀终非火，荷露虽团岂是珠。出自于白居易的一首诗。准确的说，是出自于他一组诗里面的一首。
这组诗的名字叫《放言五首》。他写这5首诗的目的，是想将自己多年的阅历针对人生的真伪，祸福，贵贱，生死等等问题做一个总结，抒发一下情感的同时，也可以告诫后来人。
换句话说，这组诗是白居易的哲学思考，如果那时出书有稿费拿的话，他应该不会就写这么简单的几十个字了。这里面包含的东西绝对可以写成《李敖大全集》那样的大部头，著作等身，不，简直就是著作等几十身啊！
像草萤有耀终非火，荷露虽团岂是珠其中包含了现象与本质的观察思考，而另一首里面的“试玉要烧三日满，辨材须待七年期”意思就是实践/时间是检验真理的唯一标准。
中国人喜欢读诗，也喜欢写诗。
