睡蓮英文名稱叫『Water Lily』，是『水百合』的意思，狀似百合花的鱗莖。
睡蓮有寧靜、含蓄之美，被用來裝飾池塘，於水面的葉片帶給人安詳的感覺，出水面的花朵千姿百態，有些含羞待放、有些璀璨奔放，著實讓單調的水面生動 image。
