About 22 years ago, my parents bought me a HP Deskjet 500 inkjet printer. From memory, it cost about $700 NZ at the time, which is equivalent about $500 US. It was a pretty cool black and white printer, pretty fast (prints a page in about 30 seconds), with a resolution of 300x300 dpi.

22年前，爸媽幫我買了台 HP Deskjet 500噴墨式印表機。記憶中，大概花了$700紐幣，換成美金約$500。那時候覺得這個黑白印表機超棒，印的快(一頁大概花30秒)，解析度約300x300dpi.

A few years later (around 17-18 years ago), my parents bought me a handheld scanner. You used it like a paint roller, except you roll it on a piece of paper or a book, and the image will show up on the computer. It was super cool, but from memory it also cost over $100, and you had to be super careful about how you roll along the page, because any mistake will cause the image to be distorted.

再過了幾年 (約17-18年前), 爸媽買了台 手滑式的掃描器。這個掃描器的使用發方法跟油漆滚刷一樣，把一本書擺在桌上，用掃描器滾過去，那頁畫面就會出現在螢幕上。非常酷，但是也要超過一百塊，而且滾的時候一不小心滾歪了，就會把圖案弄壞。

A week ago, I bought a printer/scanner/photocopier All-In-One HP Deskjet 2130 for $18 AUD ($14 USD). It is also an inkjet printer, prints in black and white as well as color, with the resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, at a faster speed than the Deskjet 500. It also scans documents and photocopies at the touch of a button.

一個禮拜前， 我花$18澳幣($14美金)買了台打印/掃描/複印三功能合一的HP Deskjet 2130, 也是噴墨式的打印機, 彩色黑白都能印，解析度是600x600dpi, 速度也比以前的Deskjet 500快。這個印表機還能掃描，按一個鈕就能複印。
