New Coins for Free: REC Token 免費的REC代幣

After reading the post from @ryoplasmic about the SHIT token, I knew that in the world of cryptocurrency, nothing is impossible.

見到@ryoplasmic介紹了一隻屎幣，發覺在加密幣的世界，的確是無奇不有，絕對有千萬種可能。

So happened that I came across a new token, which is distributing for free now. This token, which is claimed to be an ERC20 type token, is issued by the platform called Refind. The idea of Refind is that, on the Internet, people can read what is happening around the world through news, know what their friends are doing through social networks, and get what they want to know particularly for different purposes (work, school, etc.) through search, but there is no way to obtain new content that is most relevant to people’s interests and daily life. Refind believes that another metric of content discovery is missing: Relevance. At the same time, more and more contents are being created on the web, and it is not possible to read all new contents (and need not to talk about filtering relevant new contents). As such, many relevant contents are missed out or never read. The Refind platform is trying to solve these issues.

碰巧我也遇到一隻代幣，目前免費申請。這隻聲稱將會以ERC20形式發行的代幣，建基於一個叫Refind的平台。Refind的理念是，當前人們在互聯網上主要有三種方法發現新的內容(content)：新聞(news)、社交網絡(social networks)和搜尋(search)，但是卻欠缺了利用相關度(relevance)來發掘新的內容。意思是說，新聞告訴人們當前世界各地最新發生的事件；透過社交網絡我們可以得知親朋戚友的最新動態；利用搜尋引擎可以找到自己因不同原因所需要的資訊，但是就欠缺方法得到跟我們切身相關而新近出現的內容。同一時間，網上不斷出現新的內容，人們卻沒有時間去讀所有內容，因而不少新內容新資訊都被錯過了。而Refind這平台就是想解決缺乏相關度及海量資訊的問題。

The Refind platform will collect and list out information sources that are considered as relevant to different topics. Those that are saved for future reference, or read repeatedly, will be considered as having high relevance. Refind will rate the relevance of contents with reference to the tags people added to the contents, and present the high relevance contents in a magazine-like dashboard according to users’ preferences. Users’ search history and clicks of reading contents will also be fed back to the platform to refine the relevance rating. Eventually, users will get an online magazine with great contents matching their interests, without worrying that relevant contents are missed out.

Refind平台會將人們覺得和各種主題具高相關度的資訊源羅列，當中被越多人保留作日後參考的，或作重覆閱讀的資訊，會被認定為是有用而得到較高的相關度評價。Refind不斷收集及分析人們對不同內容所下的標籤(tag)，為不同內容評定相關度，然後會根據用戶的偏好設定，將具高相關度的內容以類似雜誌的形式呈現。而用戶的搜尋記錄和點擊閱讀內容的訊息亦會回饋到平台上作評定相關度之用。如是者，用戶會得到一份符合其興趣的「精選內容」雜誌，並且不用怕因為海量內容而錯過精彩資訊。

To attract more users joining the Refind platform, the Refind team decided to issue 1 billion Relevance Coin (REC) tokens and give them for free to early users. The Refind platform will be free for use, but will start monetizing when 10 million user target is reached. From then on, Refind team will start a buyback program in which they will use 10% of the profit from Refind to buy back REC tokens at market price. All purchased tokens will be burned, therefore the total supply of REC tokens will decrease as time goes by. The buyback program will continue until 99% of all tokens are purchased and burned. Holders of REC tokens can decide when they want to sell their tokens.

為了吸引更多用戶參與Refind平台，Refind團隊決定發行十億(1 billion)個Relevance Coin (REC)代幣，並免費贈予早期參加用戶。Refind平台將會免費供所有人使用，但當用戶數達到一千萬人以上時，Refind將會提供收費服務。Refind團隊希望到時每季或每半年可以用盈利的百分之十以市價去回購REC代幣。回購的REC代幣將會被注銷，因此屆時市面上的REC代幣的總量將會逐步減少。回購將會持續至99%的REC代幣都被回購及注銷。REC代幣的持有人則可以自行決定何時賣出。

My observation after registering for a couple days, Refind did present news and contents that appears to be matching my interests on my Refind personal page. While it is questionable on whether they are the most relevant contents to me, I believe that the relevancy can be improved when more and more users joined. Still, Refind team will need to ensure users will always come back to Refind to read contents.

我自己登記後觀察了一兩天，發覺Refind的確把一些（貌似）我有興趣的新聞內容放到我的個人主頁之上。這些內容是否我最感興趣（即跟我最相關）的就值得相榷，不過相信隨着參與人數增加，準繩度可以逐步提高。當然，Refind團隊還要想辦法讓用戶養成到Refind平台瀏覽內容的習慣。
