Mercy Rule

According to wikipedia, a

mercy rule, slaughter rule, knockout rule, or skunk rule ends a two-competitor sports contest earlier than the scheduled endpoint if one competitor has a very large and presumably insurmountable lead over the other.

According to @xtrodinarypilot, a mercy rule is if you are getting your ass kicked so badly, they stop the game. A huge thank you to @xtdnrymompreneur for acting as team mom with a baby on her hip. One of the things that I learned was that our opponent's team had been put together for quite some time, but our team was literally thrown together 4 days before our first game. When looking at the glass half full, one can only conclude that we can only go up from here.
