Who here has had a coach in their lifetime? Whether that's a sports coach, a voice coach, an academic coach, a life coach, a leadership coach, a fitness coach, the list goes on and on.
I'm sure if you've had one, then you most likely have a good memory of how they made you feel. You remember the result you received after working alongside them.
It's important to understand the reason why coaches exist and what their role is in the grand scheme of things. Why are coaches neccessary and what are the benefits of having one?
I remember my Tennis coach in high school and how dedicated he was to the team. He wanted to see each individual player improve their game and become the best they could be at their sport.
A couple years ago I hired a certified Tony Robbins coach who helped me break through some barriers that were holding me back from achieving the success I desired. It was an eye-opening experience that helped me move past my short-comings and into a place of empowerment.
Voice coaches help singers improve their singing abilities. Fitness coaches, or personal trainers, help those who desire to get in good physical shape.
In fact, I went to school for exercise science and sports management and became a fitness coach working at a local gym back in 2012. It was a pivotal time for me because it allowed me to discover my gifting and grow into my role as a coach.
Fast forward to present day where I coach people on the topics of self-development and cryptocurrencies. Why? Well, I only coach on topics that I am passionate about. I enjoy taking something complex and breaking it down into bite-sized chunks for easy digestion.
The Roles of a Coach
Coaching is a fascinating subject. Over the years I have discovered what it really means to be a coach and what is required to take on that role.
When it comes down to it, coaches need to have a strong desire to see their clients succeed. A coach needs to be present, in that person's corner fighting for them to win.
A coach needs to be dedicated, attentive, and committed to their client's strongest desires and goals. Discovering what your client wants to achieve is of utmost importance and must be talked about at the beginning of the process.
A fitness coach would assess goals such as desired weight, muscle tone, and arm circumference as variables on creating a personalized workout plan. I created hundreds of goal-specific plans depending on if someone wanted to lose weight, gain muscle, or just the general "get in shape".
The role of a coach is to encourage, to motivate, and to inspire others to action. It is to be strong when others are weak and need assistance in their trouble areas. Or, perhaps someone is already doing well in an area and they want to be doing even better. A coach can assist in that case as well.
Why It's Important to Be Coached (The Benefits)
Having a coach on your side is going to propel you towards your goals faster than you ever thought possible. If you've ever seen the show Shark Tank, you understand the value of bringing one or multiple sharks onto your team. You can go from making $100,000 in sales to making $1M+ within a matter of months.
A coach is going to help you pin-point your flaws in order to improve upon them. Good coaches will help you discover your weaknesses as well as your strengths and help you align them with your vision.
Having a coach will keep you accountable for your actions or even your lack of action. Often times entrepreneurs struggle with getting ahead because they have no one to keep them accountable for slacking off when they should be working on their business.
The benefits of having a coach is that you now have a strong bond with someone who shares the same interest(s) as you. Your coach has more experience than you and wants you to improve that weak area(s) of your life.
You will reap immediate benefits and also long-term benefits as you work with a coach. The long-term results, even though they aren't noticeable right away, tend to be the most rewarding as you grow into the person you were created to become.
Are you Ready?
Time to get all up in your grill... are you ready? Are you ready to go to the next level? Do you want to grow your mindset and take your game to the next level? Do you want to learn about cryptocurrency and how you can capitalize on this incredible industry?
The ball is in your court now. The decision has to come from you and you alone. Perhaps you aren't ready and you need to put your head down and go to work for a while. Maybe you are too comfortable living in your comfort zone and you know it's time to step out into the unknown.
Whatever the case, leave your questions and comments down below. I would love to speak with you or even direct you to someone who I think would be a better fit for your situation. 2019 is going to be a big year for business owners and investors in the crypto space. Don't let the opportunity pass you by.

Good stuff, Coach! That really has got me thinking… it also relates very closely to a conversation I had with my 14-year-old son t’other day… I might throw a quick little video up about it… And I’d like your thoughts if you have time…

@emaferice had a fitness coach for 1 or 2 months in the beginning of 2018. She said it is much easier to push ourselves when there is someone that expects us to excel.
We cannot afford the fitness coach at this time, but if our finances improve drastically in the future, we'll hire the same fitness coach again.
I personally could have benefited from someone who was an expert at personality type ENFP. Unfortunately I had to learn how to master my personality the hard way.
My weaknesses involve being disorganized, lazy and passionate about @steemit and writing that I neglect other areas of my life.
My strengths involve patience and the ability to focus on what I want and somehow manifest it.
I would have had a better experience in the last 8 years if I had a coach that recommended I focused on my strengths more than my weaknesses.
We can try a bit to improve our weaknesses but I believe we should lead through our strengths!!
Thanks for another post @kenmelendez and as I always say, I really appreciate your presence on the Steem blockchain 😊

Yes, Chris. Coaching is important if we want to continue making improvements on ourselves. Also, here's a bit of advice. Do not use the phrase "we can't afford" again. Even though it might be true of your current situation, you have to focus on what you want instead of on what you don't want. So, tell yourself a different story and say something like... "we are making progress towards hiring a coach in the near future". One statement leaves you with no control, the other is empowering and brings hope for change. :)
