If we look for world-famous cocktails with interesting stories definitely the Bloody Mary or "María Sangrienta" is one of them.
It is known to be the ally for the cure of the hangover, however, it is delicious for a casual breakfast or lunch. You can enjoy both strong dishes and salads or cheese cubes.
Although its origin is a little confusing, the most accepted story takes us to Paris in 1921, to the "New York Bar" that would later be the Harri's New York Bar. A Frenchman named Fernand Petiot (or Pete as he was nicknamed) created a drink based on vodka with tomato juice and some customers who came from Chicago to try it said that it reminded them of a waitress in a bar in their city called Bucket of Blood or "Valde de Sangre", which they called Bloody Mary. from that moment they decided to baptize the cocktail with that name.
About ten years later, when Petiot traveled to the United States his customers wanted something more spicy, so he decided to add Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce (also known as English sauce), salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and lemon juice to his recipe. This is the Bloody Mary we know today.

Another story ascribes its inspiration to Mary Tudor or Mary I of England. This terrible woman who reigned in the mid-sixteenth century was nicknamed Bloody Mary by the Anglican Protestants whom she persecuted. The monarch annulled the reforms of his father Henry VIII, leaving England at the mercy of the Pope and condemning more than 300 religious leaders in their attempt to restore Catholicism as the only religion of the kingdom ... The nickname looks good...
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. Vodka.
3 oz. Tomato Juice.
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice.
2-3 jets of Worcestershire sauce.
Tabasco sauce.
Celery Salt.
Pepper.
All the ingredients are placed in a cocktail shaker with ice, shaken and served in a tall glass or highball. It is commonly decorated with a celery stem.
That was all for this new segment (improvised from my bartender classes) because tomorrow I have an exhibition ... Wish me luck. Regards!
Deseenme suerte. Saludos!
