Coffee & Me = ❤️

I don't go out for coffee very often since I have a very good espresso machine at home and do not like to spend crazy amounts of money for one cup of coffee.
Today, I was meeting my friends to talk about the plans for the Bancroft Center for Sustainability we manage together. We had found out about a new coffee shop and wanted to check it out and support it with our $.
When we got there - to our dismay, there were no tables to sit and have a meeting. So, on we went to another semi-new coffee shop and I splurged and got a cappuccino. Of course, I opted for the washable cup instead of the throwaway variety.
And this little piece of art is what I was served.
It made my coffee taste double as good.

Like you, I enjoy my espresso at home. I usually drink tea at a coffee shop, however your cappuccino looks delish!

I find it even harder to shell all that money out for tea. they give you a teabag and hot water.....
usually, I just have an americano - today, I splurged :)

it looks beautiful. You got sharp observation capacity. In a date you just captured the moment of art in coffee just amaizing @mariannewest

They do make coffee art, don't they :)

I rarely go out for coffee myself, but that looks good! When I go out it's cake I cannot resist, I have good coffee at home after all... but cake!?

hahaha - I resist because really good cake is hard to come by in many of the coffee shops. But there are some places...... You will see a picture if I go to one where I can't resist :)

Lovely piece of Latte art in your cup, it's all in the milk foaming and pour - takes a long time to learn the skills but very rewarding when you get there.

I don't even try!!I can't draw on paper and think my coffee art would be just as pathetic :) but I admire what others can do!!

There's no doubt about it, coffee tastes entirely different from a plastic cup. I tend to avoid some places here where they don't give you a choice, even though you are sitting in they give you a takeaway cup.

I know!! and coffee cups usually can't be recycled either. I had reusable stainless steel cups I brought with me. I still have a couple, but the lids!! where did they go?
And my very favorite cup got stolen in a coffee shop. A friend was getting coffee for me and the barista set my cup on the counter and someone got up, took it, walked out with my cup.
It was my favorite and they stopped making that particular shape :(

They add those designs to justify the exorbitant price of the coffee 😆

right??? But it is pretty and they would have charged me the same without the design :)

It's all in the presentation. What looks good will in all likely hood taste good. We all like to be treated as special so when you get an exceptional cup of coffee it makes you feel great for the whole day!

so true!!! and we love feeling special lol

I tried my hand at making those designs for a bit with our espresso machine and the frothed milk, but then just got out of the habit. Like you, I prefer to save my money, but we do frequent a local coffee house each week for open mic nights, so I get some fancy drinks then... I just wish I could have coffee at night!

Lovely photo. :)

@byn

You can't do decaf at night? I only used the frother a few times on the machine. too much clean up lol

After suffering from increasingly severe insomnia for most of my life (at least since puberty) I was always too paranoid to even try decaf in the evenings. I suppose at this point it might be worth a try, but it's a hard habit to break I guess!!! :)

Looks like an artwork and a labor of love to learn to serve a cup of coffee like that. I have never had one of those fancy 'heart' creations, but I think I may give it a try this week end. :) <3

Go for it and enjoy!! :)

Hilarious to read that you "opted for a washable cup". I had to think long and hard what other variety existed. That's the 21st century across the globe! (Throw-aways, been there, done that, - or never entered our minds - moved on, in some European countries, at least.) Love your awareness about sustainability. Next, let's get fairer deals for our coffee-farmers....(Buy Fair Trade and double check how fair it is.)

For sure!! Fairtrade and organic all the way!! And stop all that throw away stuff!1 We have a long way to go here....

That coffee looks tempting. I literally swallowed when I saw that picture.

I have a little espresso machine myself and have dabbled into the latte art, alas my progress has not been as goodIMG_20171126_092042.jpg
