Greetings my dear friend. It's time for another episode of ... Coffee and Crypto!

Sheesh, it has been FOREVER since I released one of these videos. (insert every excuse in the world). But it's all good because here we are now. It's fall time here in Northeast Ohio and I'm enjoying the fresh air.

Truly appreciate you joining me today, friend. It's a complete honor that you would spend your precious time with me as we embark on this beautiful Steem journey together.

What is Coffee and Crypto all about?

I felt inspired to create a weekly show to help inspire and serve the community. I wanted to create something fun and interactive where awesome people like you could gain massive value and be entertained at the same time. The only way that I could accomplish such a feat was if I combined two of my favorite things...coffee and cryptocurrency.

This show will be shot in different formats and different locations as the weeks go by. If you are interested in talking about cryptocurrency and would like to be considered for a future show, feel free to leave a request in the comments below.

What happens each episode?

Each week I will be consuming some type of coffee whether that be hot, iced, or some type of mystery item. You will begin to notice a trend of the type of coffee I enjoy the most. Also, each week I will be picking a topic to cover in regards to coffee or cryptocurrency that you guys will provide feedback on.

At the end of each episode, I will ask you to comment below with questions you have on that topic. If you are one of the first 3 people to comment with a question to help with the next episode, I will send you a @steemmonsters booster pack. If you comment after the first 3, then I will still gladly mention your username if I choose your question to answer.

Missed the last episode? Feel free to view it here.

SMT's

SMT's, or Smart Media Tokens, are "a new way for publishers to monetize their online content and community, based on battle-tested blockchain technology". That was taken directly from the official SMT website here.

In a nutshell, SMT's, which are due for release in March 2019, will allow entrepreneurs and developers the opportunity to reward their users with a valuable asset that runs on the backbone of Steem. Right now is an exciting time to be a Steemian. Please do not underestimate the high potential this blockchain has.

Without further ado, let's jump into the questions, shall we? These questions came straight from the horse's mouth, AKA you! Am I calling you a horse? No, it's silly American expression. To easily view the answer to your question in the video, simply use the minute markers I've placed next to each question.

Question 1 - @karenmckersie (minute 4:03)

Will all SMT's be cashable into Steem?

Question 2 - @onefatindian (minute 6:21)

Will you be looking to monetize your content with SMT's?

Question 3 - @mrchef111 (minute 7:05)

Are there any websites out there that you hope will start using SMT's?

Question 4 - @ange.nkuru (minute 8:46)

Is it possible that having too many communities with their own token will lead to worse beefs than these days? Perhaps even trying to sabotage each other?

Next week's topic

The way I'd like to do this is I want you to tune into the video to find out what next week's topic is about. The first 3 people who find out and then leave a question about that topic below will win a free @steemmonsters booster pack. You need to first have a starter pack in order to open the booster pack.

I had so much fun with today's episode my friend. Thank you for helping to make it a success! Also, if you have any constructive criticism on how I can improve these episodes, feel free to leave your comments below. Hope you have an amazing rest of your day and keep on Steeming! 🙋 So glad to see the Coffee and Crypto show back again @kenmelendez ! Thanks for the awesome mention and answering my question . Im patiently waiting for the SMT launch and glad we actually have a date of March now just in time for my Birthday on March 16 ! what a great gift lol!!🎁
I am all ready using some websites like Partiko and now Steemhunt love these sites im all ready over 1,000 hunt tokens ! and of course im still waiting for APPICS to launch where I now have over 2,400 XAP Tokens ! So im glad to hear that tokens can be exchanged into Steem once SMTs come out!
My Question:
could there possibly be too many projects run off the blockchain!? that could possibly take more people away from steemit and spending more time on say " APPPICS" or "Steemhunt" Instead of blogging on Steemit !? which may lead to the demise of Steemit.
Thanks Ken , glad the show is back , I missed it ! upped and resteemed!💕✌👍💁

Congrats Karen! You won a SM pack! Check your SM back office and thank you for participating :) :)

Awesome thanks for the pack, my best card was a rare but I needed it, lots of fun opening ! 👍👍👍😊👹👿👻☠️👾

Hey Ken, my friend!! Thanks for answering my question! I agree merchandise is awesome. That would be so awesome if you could buy merch with your SMTs haha. I love filming outside as well. But just can't do it here that much in the summer in Phoenix. LOL and that Gimble for your phone will be awesome! Speaking of Steem Projects: My favorite project of course is DTube. What are some things you would like DTube to do to stay fresh and new? Any features you would like to see? What is your favorite of the Steem Projects?

Matt! Way to go bud. You just got sent a SM booster pack. Thanks for participating :)

Awesome thank you man! :) :)

Coffee and Crypto wow that's a good combination.,

Do you know if there is any airdrops on the way where we steemit users get coins based on rep. Like byteball did?

@kenmelendez. First time watching coffee and crypto and i won't lie i totally enjoyed it.Looking forward to your next episode on Steem projects. Also thank for the motivational speech towards the end of the video.Hope you get the selfie stick.

Upvoted.

Thank you for posting another episode @kenmelendez.

I ran out of Steem Power on @chrisrice so I am using this other account to comment.

As it stands now, I can only post one to two comments a day. I would like to know what you think about projects "gamifying" their comments, upvotes and posts so that their members could comment, upvote and post more than the standard 2 comments a day, even if they only have 15 SP.

I would also like you to look into @steepshot and see if there is any way that it can get a large delegation from @ned, @steemit, @exyle or someone that can help fund their project. I use their service a lot and I want to see it get as much support as @dtube.

I meant to tag you in my last video. I'm sorry, I completely forgot about you but my last video applies to you as well.

SMTs should really put the steem blockchain on the map

yo, @kenmelendez, its been a long time, hows the family?.

This is really informative !good job @kenmelendez

Incredible, but I have often hear SMT,
but I don't understand. Please explain what is smt ????

Good edifying video except that the background music at the beginning is too loud. Hopefully the background music will be edited at the equal loudness level as the voice.

Hey @kenmelendez,

Great job on the video (it finally worked for me - dTube has been acting up!!!), and big thank for answering my question. I can't wait to see how you implement SMT's 😃

I'm not a very "outdoorsy" type of individual, but wow, your videos come out looking great. Just hearing the birds chirping makes me FEEL like I'm outside, so that works for me lol

As for my question related to "projects on Steem":

There are so many projects (thanks for linking that website) on Steem, and they vary from something as simple as the "pancake" app to more complex ones like @partiko or @steemmonsters. How do people on Steem get together and join up for these projects (aka how do they find each other??)? Do you think most of the interaction takes place on Discord, or offline somewhere - perhaps other social media platforms? I mean, these projects definitely involve more that one person at the helm, so I would imagine getting a team together that consists of coders, graphic artists, sound creators, etc. would require some form of initial interaction.

If I had an idea for a project, I would be in need of a team, so I would definitely have to run around (not literally, of course... I don't do that lol) and find the pieces to the puzzle to get the project going.

Cheers,
