Imagine if you could earn your income by walking. You would either love it or hate it depending on what type of person you are. If you have a dog or a baby, walking is already a part of your daily routine and earning would be a by-product of your routine.
As crazy as it may sound - there are apps like that in the market. They reward you for walking, as simple as that. It's also positive overall because it may help with obesity, even if it's a tiny bit. If one person decides to walk instead of having a bus or a taxi ride then it's already successful. With Sweatcoin these are millions of people.
All you have to do is walk. Make sure you turn on the app and go for it. Walk and earn. That's what Sweatcoin basically is. They also just released an update allowing us to earn by walking indoors (before - it was counting steps only outside of buildings).
How much can you earn and what can you buy?
Right now, the maximum amount is 20 Sweatcoins per day without counting in the daily bonus for watching an ad (day 1 gets you 1 coin, day 2 gives you two coins and day three brings 4 coins to the table).
Meaning you could earn up to 670 SWC a month (600 from walking and 70 from watching ads).
It's 670 x 12 = 8040 SWC a year
You can also earn by inviting your friends to join Sweatcoin. From every friend who joins - you get 5 more SWC.
As you can see in the screenshot below - there are user plans to choose from. Each plan has the maximum amount of coins it can earn and a monthly fee for using it.
When you register - first 30 days you can try any plan for free. After that, you have to set the plan that fits you the best. Look back to see how many coins you got on average and set it accordingly. Otherwise, you will pay double for using a plan that doesn't fit you.
Dashboard
In the main menu you can see how much SWC you've earned today
User Plans
Each plan, except Mover, has a monthly price that you have to pay for.
- Mover - earn daily up to 5 SWC, costs nothing and will be free forever
- Shaker - earn daily up to 10 SWC, costs 4,75 SWC/month
- Quaker - earn daily up to 15 SWC, costs 20 SWC/month
- Breaker - earn daily up to 20 SWC, costs 30 SWC/month
- Trouble Maker - isn't released yet, details unknown
Spending Sweatcoins
Sweatcoin is gaining traction with each day. More and more people are joining up to earn rewards for walking. That means they can get more deals and we get more ways to spend our Sweatcoins.
Everything's on the app. Every possible way to spend your Sweatcoins. Okay, not every but we'll get to that later. There are various offers to choose from when you enter the spending section of the Sweatcoin app.
Cheapest Offers
As you can see, these offers are cheap. You can get an online workout from Boxx or get a real personal trainer from Ladder (only for iOs). You can also get a meditation app called Calm for free or have fitness audio classes from Auro. Altogether, it would cost 39,99 SWC which can be earned in two days if you walk enough.
Expensive Offers
These cost more because they're worth more. For 8 thousand SWC, you can get an OGarden, that costs about 1000$ in the market. To get you 8 thousand SWC, you would need to walk the maximum amount for 12 and a half months. (8000 coins / 640 monthly coins = 12.5 months)
There's one more thing - to buy something, you must have earned SWC yourself. There is an option to send SWC to others but it doesn't apply on big purchases. So if you were thinking of having five phones on you when you take a walk, leave that thought be.
Crowdfunding
If you're not into physical goods, you can support various charities and movements to improve the world. From supporting gender equality in Burkina Faso to planting 3500 trees for the orcas. As you can see below, many people are donating their SWC to help others. So far, orcas are doing better than women and children and that's pretty reasonable considering that orcas can't plant trees themselves.
Bucket List
Who wouldn't want a free holiday trip? Yes, it may take years to achieve but take into account that you don't have to do anything else except walk. If you're a person who loves to walk or wants to get healthier, this is a wonderful way to go.
Can you sell Sweatcoins?
There are no official markets that buy or sell SWC but there are pages on the internet offering to buy them from you. A simple google search will do the trick if you care to sell your SWC, but we suggest that you keep them. Time goes by fast, so do your feet when you're walking.
Walk To Save Money And Health
Sweatcoin also helps us to save money. How? By making us walk.
In a world full of Ubers and electric scooters, it's often hard to pass the chance of getting somewhere faster than on foot. It's nice but it costs money. Whenever you choose to walk instead of getting a ride, you'll save money.
You will also save money by being healthier. If you're healthier - you won't have the need for a doctor. Or medicine.
According to HealthLine.com, walking has numerous health benefits, including:
- Burning calories
- Strengthening the heart
- Lowering blood sugar level
- Boosting immune function
- Boosting energy and mood
- Improves creative thinking
- Extends your life
When you know the benefits of taking a walk, it can impact your choices. If you're a person who loves to walk, this is great for you. If you're not used to walking and have a job at the desk, this app can improve your overall life.
Go for a walk when you're taking a break from work. Not only will it help you structure your thoughts and plan ahead, it will also earn you SWC. Who knows, maybe after a year you're going on a trip?
*this post contains an invite link to Sweatcoin. As we said before - by inviting friends, you're receiving 5 SWC. You're my friend, so I'm inviting you

I'm all for incentivising physical activity.
Why?
Because modern living tends to favor the sedentary life.

This sounds interesting. I've been using Actifit, though. We've got to support Steem. Right?
