For this contest, I will share with you one of my favorite all-time breakfast meals. It is made at 'The Corner' in Milford, Connecticut, which is known to serve up some of the best brunch dishes in the state. The dish is called "African Hash".

One of the greatest parts of New England is the immense plethora of foods. The United States is a melting pot of cultures, which brings a vast array of food styles to the area. Our cuisine tends to be a culmination of all the different cultures that brought with them their food and ancestry.

The African Hash is a special, one-of-a-kind dish that brings together many food styles to create a mouthwatering, and flavorful brunch experience.

It consists of a spicy beef and lentil hash served on top of an English muffin. It is then topped with poached eggs, crispy potato carvings, & covered with bearnaise sauce (almost like a funky version of eggs benedict). On the side it comes with potato homefries and I ordered a side of seeded rye to go with it. I like to put the leftover hash on top of the buttered toast.

The hash is spicy, but not too overwhelming. It has a flavor that I've never had anywhere else. Overall, the African Hash is an amazing portrayal of American cuisine. It is a hybrid of cultural goodness and a great way to start the day.
