One of the most recognized flavors in the world was born in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. It was May 8, 1886. Dr. John Stith Pemberton, a pharmacist in the area, produced the syrup with the Coca-Cola formula, and took a pitcher of the new product through the streets to Jacobs' Pharmacy, where samples sold for five cents a glass. Carbonated water was what completed the mix of the new syrup to produce the “delicious and refreshing” drink, a slogan that still echoes wherever someone enjoys a Coke.
