Dear @DtubeDaily on @Dtube #170 // rebooting the ‘collaborations’ with frame.io that will tie into live stream.

in collab-reboot •  6 years ago

Finally have time to reset and start the week afresh, I jumped straight into some new client work in the last seven days and that took up a lot of my time but also give me time to think about the things I want to work on this month (and next) and how I want to start out my next year.

One of the GREAT things about having months of months of minimising expectations is that whenever something does come in and pays well, and I can block that time off it means I can FOCUS on those houses, achieve that amount and then know I have time to either look for more work or get into some of my side projects.

btw, if you have never seen the collabs, check out this link (in my bio) — https://linktr.ee/philcampbell — and you’ll see two links for FIRST VIDEO and the SECOND VIDEO — hopefully you’ll see what I’m trying to do, but I wanna 100x that idea and make it faster, smarter, cleaner and more rewards for all, I know what I have to do to make it better! :)

One such project I’ve been wanting to do from the very start is really zone in on the ‘collaborations’ side of things with the videos — I write the script, people record and send them in — at first when steem was up I’d reward them with steem, my own steem and sending people like a coffee ($2/3) seemed like a cool thing, with the price of it now below a dollar it doesn’t quite have the same effect! :)

Also in doing the ‘collars’ I noticed that ‘speed’ and ‘access’ was an issue so while I have some great ideas/design plan for solving that resources made that impossible to get the ball rolling there — BUT in doing so might have given me a better way of going about it which I think in the end might actually serve the project(s) better anyway — time does afford you to look at things better :)

so let’s talk about frame.io

I’ve been wanting to find a way to speed up the whole process of making collabs and I think i might have found it in the shape of frame.io, I’ll be setting up an account shortly there and then putting together the structure of how people can get involved.

I’ve joined a few discord channels where they promise to ‘collab’ but most of the time they ask you to do pretty much everything and then give you a tiny little payout while they keep the rest and build their SP — I don’t think that’s cool or fair, so I wanna do something different and from the perspective of where I’d hoped collabs would go.

Now the basic version of frame.io is not free so I need to pay out a monthly subscription to actually be able to do this but I’m cool with doing that for November and December, I think this could be a lot of fun so I’m kicking it off and hoping that I can get my twitter, youtube and steemit followers to get involved.

I’ll be sharing the funds of the payout across the amount of people in the videos that will be produced and I’ll explain more about it really soon, should be a lot of fun and that’s the whole reason why I go onto making collabs anyway, so you can see the PEOPLE behind the account rather than just some numbers and SP.

I’m excited to get back to it ;) — i’ll be writing or contacting you via all of your blogs and discords soon to see if you want to be part of the project — I’m hoping that I can use the same system to finished the @steemhunt video and move the project forward in 2019 ;)
