I spoke with my client yesterday that has GIC's with Home Trust in his brokerage account. The brokerage company let him know they had a company (didn't say which one) willing to buy the one coming up in Sept, he lost some principle and the interest but at least he was able to get some out..the brokerage company assured him that he has insurance to cover the other one if the company fails before it comes due....the saga continues - I'll keep you updated on this for a future report.
