One of the biggest challenges I faced in college while studying online was having access to helpful resources. Like many online students out there, I was working full time while finishing up my bachelor's degree. It also didn't help that I was in a different time zone than my teachers. By the time I was finished with work and ready to begin my lectures and assignments my professors would most likely be heading to bed, so when I had questions, it was difficult to get them answered in time.
Turning to outside resources was a huge help, specifically Course Hero. For those of you who are unaware of what that is, Course Hero is a site were students and educators can upload study materials to share with others. By signing up, you can access over 25 million course-specific study materials. Like many sites out there, to gain full access to all of the site's features you either have to contribute or pay a subscription fee. Contributing is easy if you are a college student since you have unique notes and study guides. It could save you some money if you are regularly accessing this site.
The course specific study guides were really useful when I first began taking online classes since each section contains helpful infographics, videos, key vocabulary words, and reading recommendations. I believe that the course-specific study guides are available for free to individuals who sign up with a free account. From my understanding, there is collaboration with university educators and subject matter experts since most course study guides are recommended by professors. There are study gudies for subjects such as business and accounting, hummanitites, STEM, and social sciences.
Hope whoever reads this finds this information useful.
